Ladies and Gentlemen, tonight, standing here, I can't help but feel a mix of emotions. Twenty years have flown by in the blink of an eye, and it's hard to believe that this is truly the end of my journey as a Laker.
Man, guys, you know, it's a…I can't believe how fast 20 years went by. This is crazy, absolutely crazy. To stand here, at the center court with you guys, my teammates behind me, and appreciate all of this – the journey we've been on, the ups and downs we've been through. I think the most important part is that we all stayed together.
I grew up a die-hard Laker fan. I knew everything about every play that's ever been played here. To be drafted and then trained by this organization, to spend 20 years here, it's been a dream come true.
And I'm more proud of the fact, not about the championships, but about the down years. Because we never ran, we never gave up. We played through all that stuff, we got our championships, and we did it the right way.
All I can do here is thank you. Thank you for all the years of support, the motivation, the inspiration. You guys will always be in my heart.
My family, it's my family – my wife, Vanessa, my daughters, Natalia and Gianna. Thank you for all your sacrifices. For all the hours I spent in the gym working and training, Vanessa, you held down the family the way that you have. I can't thank you enough for that. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
